The Chebucto Community Singers was formed in 1974 under the leadership of Kaye Pottie. A SATB choir of 40+ members, it sings a repertoire of folk, pop, gospel, classical to Broadway music.

Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm at Hillside United Church, 12 Flamingo Drive, Halifax, usually from mid-September to mid-May. The choir normally performs 3-4 concerts per year.

Founded in 1974, Chebucto Community Singers is a long-standing adult SATB community choir dedicated to bringing people together through accessible and enriching choral music experiences. Position Summary

Chebucto Community Singers is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and skilled Choral Conductor to provide artistic leadership for our community choir. The successful candidate will inspire singers of varied musical backgrounds, cultivate a positive and inclusive rehearsal environment, and work closely with the volunteer Board of Directors to support the choir’s artistic vision and long-term sustainability.

This is an exciting opportunity for a conductor who values community-building as much as musical excellence and who is passionate about accessible choral music experiences.
